It has been around seventy years since he helped save the Hungarian-Jews, and people are still honoring him today. He changed people’s lives that would be forever grateful to him. The case of his death went on for many years, with new testimonies coming forth and new evidence being found. In the 1980’s it was declared that he died in 1947 in a Russian prison. Many decades later, Raoul received awards for an honorary citizen in the United States, Canada and Israel. In Sweden people worked to keep finding answers on what happened to Raoul. In November of 2000, Alexander Yakovlev, who was the head of investigations for Wallenberg’s death, announced he was killed in 1947 at a prison in Moscow Raoul forever changed lives of the Jewish so we honor him still today for his acts of heroism.
